I. There is a problem in society today. That problem is: that the minimum wage is more like a poverty wage instead of an anti-poverty. Currently, the minimum wage is the United States is $7.25 an hour which is not enough to cover the expenses of a house. The minimum wage conforms to the needs of people who are single, but that is not the case for people who have to support and sustain a family. Many people who work for the minimum wage are parents, and they don't make enough money to completely support their own and their children's needs. In order to improve the country's economy and the people's living standards, we need to increase the federal minimum wage, by doing so, people will have more incomes and more money to spend which will help them to pay their personal expenses and will stimulate the economy.
